Northowram Pumas - 21st Jan @ 10am
There is no parking at Shelf Park, on the main road outside the park or down Bridle Stile so please don’t try to drive down the side of the park. We have however got the use of 75 spaces in the Witt carpark on Wade House (Halifax) Road (postcode HX3 7BJ) and marshals will be on the road entrance to direct you to the industrial estate. This car park will be available all day if you’re staying for food afterwards. If you do have to park elsewhere, please try and park a short walk (or warm up run) from the park and don’t park on any double yellow lines, obstruct any access points or cause obstructions. Where possible, please car share or if you’re local, walk.
Bacon butties and tea and coffee will be served in the Bottomley’s Arms (opposite Shelf Park) from 8.30am. The race will start from Shelf Park at 10am. The route is just over 5.5miles and a technical course. Trail / fell shoes are a must! The course is muddy and there are infamous Halifax hills!
The link to the route is: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/544037
Following the race, the Bottomley’s Arms will be selling homemade meat pie (veggie option available) and peas at £5. Please let us know if you’re staying for this on my Facebook post on Friday so there is enough to go round! Please ensure you remove any muddy footwear when going into the pub, these events are only possible with the support of local businesses. We’ll be holding the customary WYWL raffle in the Bottomley’s Arms too - it’s already shaping up to be a post Christmas special one (alcohol and chocolates aplenty!) but if you’ve got any unwanted presents, please bring them along!

WYWL race 2 - Queensbury
The next event is 10am on the 10th December from Queensbury Golf Club, BD13 1QF. The course starts in nearby Foster Park and is roughly 5.5 miles long. Not as hilly as the last one but could be muddy if it’s anything like last year.
As it’s our last event before Christmas we will be encouraging fancy dress. At the very least wear a Santa hat. There will be a competition on the start line and prizes for the best dressed lady & man.
As ever, parking is tight so car-share if you can. Please bring items for the raffle. Hot food & refreshments will be served in the golf clubhouse after the race.
